    Mr. William Hanlin, President & CEO of IACVS, visited Beijing Xinliu Huigu Technology Co., Ltd on July 18, 2019. He delivered a lecture on "cash flow forecast under international accounting standards -- challenges and avoiding mistakes" at Xinliu firm, more than 20 employees of the Xinliu staffs joined the seminar. Ms. Zhang Chi, manager of flow brand supervision department, served as the on-site interpreter. After the meeting, Mr. Hanlin had a friendly and in-depth talk with the management of the company. The company expressed their hope to hold more such activities in the future to promote communication, enhance staff capacity and expand international business.

    Mr. William Hanlin presented a seminar organized by the IACVS Hong Kong Chapter on July 12, 2019. The seminar focused on two themes "cash flow forecasting - meeting challenges and avoiding mistakes" and " Business Valuation on M&A". Hanlin introduced the common mistakes in cash flow forecasting, pointed out the great challenges brought by the new situation and the updating of rules, and helped participants understand the mistakes from the real cases. This seminar has received a warm response from local members, who hope to have more opportunities to communicate and learn to meet the business needs under the new global economic situation.

    After the discussion, chairman Hanlin said he would continue to assist and promote the work of the association and provide more support and services to its members.

    The Business Valuers Association of Malaysia (BVAM) and the IACVA Malaysia Charter have successfully conducted the second ICVS Certification Training Class in Malaysia from November 18 to 20, 2017. 52 candidates from Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei took part in the training course.

    Our distinguished certified trainer, Sr Elvin Fernandez who is also the President of BVAM, taught the business valuation theories and methodologies, and answered many questions from candidates. The class participants responded enthusiastically to his depth of knowledge and approachability. 

    Ms Jowis Ng, the Member of MIA and ACCA and who also has 10 years of corporate finance experience, shared many examples and case studies from an experienced practitioner’s perspective.

    Dato’ Sr Lau Wai Seang, the President of the Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (RISM) met with candidates and imparted her personal experience and real life cases while teaching the topic on Best Practice for Intangibles valuation class. 

    All participants were encouraged to utilize the IACVA world-wide network to develop their practices through participating in local and global events.

    We are looking forward to the next training which will most likely be conducted in March, 2018 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

    We are pleased to inform you IACVA Hong Kong Chapter will conduct the ICVS Certification Live Training Class on September 19- 23, 2016 in Hong Kong. The classes will be presented by our experienced senior instructors from North America IN ENGLISH. A multiple choice exam will be offered on the day after the five days' training.

    "Certified Business Valuation Course”

    It's a great pleasure to announce that Business Valuers Association Malaysia (BVAM) will organise a Certified Business Valuation Course. BVAM is a charter member of The International Association of Consultants, Valuers and Analysts (IACVA). The training course will be held on 21 - 24 & 26-30 September 2016 at National Institute of Valuation (INSPEN), Kajang Selangor, Malaysia.

    Speaking from experience and with the assistance of his powerpoint slides, Mr. Jim Horvath spoke on “How to Build a Successful Valuation Practice” at an afternoon seminar held May 16, 2016 by IACVA Hong Kong Chapter.  As a practitioner with a lifetime of experience, Jim very gladly shared his long-term and extensive working professional experience with attendees and answered their questions. The participants were fully engaged in the seminar, which due to the extensive questions and discussions, ran 20 minutes beyond the targeted ending time. Jim reports it was a great pleasure speaking to and with all attendees. He hopes to see this group more often and wishes them success in their careers.

    IACVA China Charter successfully conducted its seventh ICVS Certification Training Class in Beijing from May 7- 11, 2016. Near twenty candidates took part in the training.

    Our distinguished senior instructor, Mr. Robert Brackett, taught the business valuation theories and methodologies, and answered many questions from keen candidates. 

    Mr. William Hanlin, the President and CEO of IACVA, met with candidates and shared his personal experience and real life cases while teaching the Introduction to Intangibles Valuation class.  The class participants responded enthusiastically to his depth of knowledge and approachability. 

    Mr. Zhu Jun, a member of IACVA Education Committee, taught case analysis and report writing as well. He shared his own experience from a professional view and clearly pointed out the differences of cases done in domestic and in oversea followed by IACVA standard.

    IACVA President & CEO, William Hanlin attended a member event held by IACVA Hong Kong Chapter on April 20, 2016.  He shared recent valuation developments and contents of the presentations at the 2015 IACVA Dubai Conference. As an active practitioner, Mr. Hanlin was eager to share his extensive professional experience with attendees and to answer their questions.  All participants responded enthusiastically to his presentation. Attendees included representatives from IACVA, American Appraisal and the IVSC.
